Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (Southern SARE) stands as SOWTH 2025’s Pollinator sponsor, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture and building resilient food systems across the Southeast, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
SOWTH 2025, set for February 4-6, 2025 at the Georgia World Congress Center, will bring together over 1,000 farm and food system professionals and advocates from across the Southeast to strengthen our agricultural community.
Southern SARE, an outreach program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), leads efforts to support sustainable farming practices through research and education. This mission aligns with SOWTH’s goals of empowering rural communities and ensuring the long-term viability of regional food systems through collaboration.
Southern SARE’s approach to sustainable agriculture emphasizes solutions that are ecologically sound and economically feasible. By supporting farmers and ranchers in creating profitable and sustainable operations, Southern SARE helps improve soil health, enhance land stewardship, and maintain a resilient food supply. Its focus on sustainable profitability and social equity supports the whole of the agricultural community, including young and beginning farmers, minority farmers, and women farmers.
The partnership between Southern SARE and SOWTH unites two organizations committed to transforming agriculture through collaboration. Southern SARE’s contribution will help shape the future of farming, where we can build a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient agricultural system for generations to come.
