Urban Farming at Patchwork City Farms!

Looking for ways to grow more with less? Join us on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 for a SOWTH 2025 farm tour at Patchwork City Farms in Atlanta, Ga. This 1.5-acre urban farm shows how small spaces can yield big results through creative and sustainable farming practices.

Led by urban farming expert and food activist Jamilia “Farmer J” Norman, Patchwork City Farms is committed to building healthy and safe communities. It’s leading the Farm to Table, Slow Food, and Sustainable Agriculture movements and strengthening Atlanta’s Black farming community to build an equitable food system.

On this 1.5-hour farm tour, you’ll:

  • Discover innovative techniques for maximizing production on a small farm using raised beds, in-ground beds, and grow bags
  • Learn about Certified Naturally Grown practices and how to apply them to your own farm or garden

This farm tour is perfect for beginner farmers, urban gardeners, or anyone interested in exploring sustainable agriculture. Norman–a first generation daughter of Caribbean parents–has a background in Environmental Engineering and extensive experience in food activism. You’ll gain valuable knowledge and tools to make the most of small-scale farming.
